About Hillside

Dear Hillside Parents/Guardians,

We are looking forward to providing our scholars a top-notch, 21 st century education, as we partner with you to ensure our students achieve excellence! We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our scholars need support from both the home and school. At Hillside we have adopted the African Proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child " as our motto. We know a strong partnership w ith you will make a great difference in your child's academic success. We ask that you guide and support your child' s learning by ensuring that he/she:

1) Attends school daily and arriv es on time, ready for the day's learning experience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and attend college someday

Please consider joining our school volunteer program as our scholars can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school's program and its operations. We would also like to invite you to become a member of our PT A, School Site Council , English Learners Advisory Committee, SPSA Writing Team, and/or our African American Parent Advisory Committee.
